Holwell Music Nights 2017 dates ...

Going into 2017 we would like try, NOT every month,
four music nights per year at Holwell, one per season - every 3 months.
We hope this will mean far better audience numbers,
as there will be heaps more time to promote,
and also a bigger sense of occasion... let's see how it goes!

Therefore Holwell dates for 2017 are :-
3rd March
2nd June
1st September
1st December

As always, thoughts, feelings & suggestions more than welcome.

Dorset One World Festival - Saturday 6th August 2016 - 12noon to 5pm

Picture
BearCat Crafts, Facepainting ToySwap & SwapShop in the Kids Area

"The One World Festival celebrates the diversity of cultures in Dorset through World food, music and cultural activities. It is the brainchild of local resident Khalique Miah and his friends, the ‘Speak Easy’ Group, who would like to encourage networking and socialising with ethnic minority groups and the community.

We would particularly like to encourage participation in some of the activities – either to perform music, dance or song or form a team to take part in some of the organised fun sessions of Kabaddi (see You Tube!) and Tug of war, or to bring a stall and promote your own organisation. Ask your colleagues and contact us if you would like to come and take part – for booking email: dorsetoneworld@gmail.com
– and pass this information on to anyone who you think might be interested.
If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to make contact - we look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes
Dorset One World Festival Committee"

please email them. If you have a friend or family member who would like to join in but who has not received an email invitation please send their email address to enfest@btinternet.com

The theme for En*Fest 2016 is 'HAWAII SUMMER SEASIDE' as chosen by  children at En*Fest 2015.

Following the very sudden death in October of Chris Blaze who was a dear friend, the En*Fest electrician and one of the event 'characters', it has been decided En*Fest 2016 will be in his honour.
We hope to raise funds for the three charities supported at his funeral namely
    - Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance,
    - Yeovil District Hospital CT Scanner Appeal
    - St Andrew's Church,Trent, Dorset where Chris was a church warden

All profit from the En*Fest bar is in support of charity.

Sunday: 10:00 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 18:00

The annual Tolpuddle Martyrs' Festival is a unique event.

Over the weekend there will be lots of debates and discussions on a wide range of topics. Controversial subjects will be tackled. Leading speakers will inform, captivate, inspire, argue with, rant at and challenge us. Between or even instead of the politics there will be a diverse mixture of some cracking music. Many performers will reflect the exciting burst of radical new talent that is emerging. Some old favourites will be there too. The Sunday welcomes lots more people who come for the day and the grand procession of banners through the village.
