ASD – Why does my kid do that?
Aims: To explore the science behind typical Autistic Behaviours and how best to manage the situations that arise.
In a safe, dignified and respectful environment, using the Zoom interactive platform, we will look at what behaviours mean, why certain actions happen, how the ASD brain communicates with the outside world and how we can manage the risks presented by those behaviours.
The course includes the following aspects:
· The science of ASD Behaviour
· Self stimulation and ‘ticks’
· De-escalation and appropriate levels of care

45 Minute Online Zoom Training Session
Please log on 15 minutes before the start time using the email link that will be sent to you.
You must be using a device that has access to a camera, screen and microphone, eg, smartphone or PC.
Make sure that you are in a calm, safe environment where you will not be disturbed for an hour.
Assessment: The trainer will check understanding and involvement of all students throughout the duration of the course.
Certification: On successful completion of the course students will receive a certificate of participation.
