ASD – Why does my kid do that?

Aims: To explore the science behind typical Autistic Behaviours and how best to manage the situations that arise.

In a safe, dignified and respectful environment, using the Zoom interactive platform, we will look at what behaviours mean, why certain actions happen, how the ASD brain communicates with the outside world and how we can manage the risks presented by those behaviours.

The course includes the following aspects:

·       The science of ASD Behaviour

·       Self stimulation and ‘ticks’

·       De-escalation and appropriate levels of care
