Volunteers
We welcome volunteers to join our friendly team, displaying SwapShop contributions that come in to our community reuse project in Henstridge, Somerset We have between 40-70 SwapShop visitors per day to The Honesty Jar, there is always heaps of treasure to sort through and display on shelves and rails to give visitors access to affordable clothes, books, shoes, games, toys, homeware, textiles and keep valuable resources out of landfill. Items are not priced, visitors pop a voluntary contribution in ‘The Jar’. There are usually three volunteers on each shift (10am-1pm/1pm-4pm). Full training and support given. We process 70 tonnes of donations per year with our fabulous team of 30+ local volunteers. There is a flexible rota, shifts can be regular or ad-hoc, to fit in with your other commitments. We are open 10am-4pm six days a week based in the grounds of a family run garden centre, closed Wednesdays. There is a google calendar rota to see who plans to be there when, scroll down, to find it below the photos. The idea is for this to be a wonderfully sociable venture as well as a great way to de-clutter, learn skills and find bargains. It would be lovely to meet you, if you are interested in volunteering, send a message via facebook, or email, or come and visit us. |

Volunteers : below is our rota calendar to coordinate who's available at what times to be in the space
The calendar is 'live', so if you are viewing it at 10pm, that will be the time that is centred in the display, just use the scroll bar on the right to centre it on daytime. You can also use the blue arrows in the top left corner, to toggle between weeks If you are interested in putting your name down for any shifts please message or email us - The more the merrier, so don't be put off if other names are already down for times you would like to volunteer |
You can either view the rota in a browser or app - use Google Calendar & optionally download the free app for your device,
message us the email address that you used to login, we can then 'invite' you to view or edit the calendar.
