Volunteers
Looking for a fun and rewarding way to give back to your community? Join our fantastic team of volunteers at The Honesty Jar in Henstridge, Somerset. We run a vibrant community reuse project that helps keep valuable items out of landfill, while offering affordable treasures to visitors. We welcome around 40 visitors each day. We have everything from clothes and books to toys, games, and homeware. It's a bustling spot, with lots of sorting, organising, and displaying donations—it's a fantastic way to make a difference while meeting new people. We’re looking for volunteers to help with these tasks. There is no pricing involved—visitors simply make a voluntary contribution in 'The Jar.' We usually have three volunteers per shift (10am-1pm / 1pm-4pm), and training and support are provided. Our incredible team of 40 local volunteers processes around 100 tonnes of donations annually, and we need you to help make it all happen! We offer flexible shifts that can work around your schedule, whether you prefer a regular slot or an occasional one. We’re open six days a week (10am-4pm) in the lovely grounds of a family-run garden center (closed on Wednesdays). Meet like-minded people, learn new skills, and even de-clutter your space while finding fantastic bargains! Interested? We’d love to meet you! Drop us a message on social media, email us, or come by for a visit. Let’s make this a sociable and impactful venture together! |

Volunteers : below is our rota calendar to coordinate who's available at what times to be in the space
The calendar is 'live', so if you are viewing it at 10pm, that will be the time that is centred in the display, just use the scroll bar on the right to centre it on daytime. You can also use the blue arrows in the top left corner, to toggle between weeks If you are interested in putting your name down for any shifts please message or email us - The more the merrier, so don't be put off if other names are already down for times you would like to volunteer |
You can either view the rota in a browser or app - use Google Calendar & optionally download the free app for your device,
message us the email address that you used to login, we can then 'invite' you to view or edit the calendar.
