🌿 How to Prepare Donations
A little preparation goes a long way! Here’s how you can help: 🧩 Games & Puzzles – Check they’re complete and tape the box closed. 🧺 Sets & Small Items – Put them in clear plastic bags and tape securely. (Ask for bags or tape at the reception desk if needed.) 🐻 Soft Items – After weighing, sort into the labelled bins: curtains, bedding, towels, tablecloths, adult/children/baby clothes, shoes, and soft toys. 🍽️ Hard Items – Leave kitchenware and bric-a-brac on the front desk or hand to a volunteer. 📚 Books, CDs & DVDs – Place these in the crates inside the shop by the book desk. This helps keep walkways clear, prevents backlogs, and ensures visitors — including those with prams or mobility challenges — can move safely and comfortably. Every little bit of help means volunteers can spend more time sorting, cleaning, and displaying items beautifully. Thank you for being part of this shared effort to keep our community project running smoothly! |
🧩 How to DonateYour donations are what keep The Honesty Jar alive — thank you! To help our volunteers rehome items efficiently and safely, please follow these guidelines.
🕒 When to Donate Donations are accepted daily before 3pm (closed Wednesdays). This gives volunteers essential time at the end of the day to sort and tidy. 📦 What to Donate We accept clean, reusable items that fit on a shelf or rail, including:
We cannot accept: large furniture, car seats, prams, duvets, pillows, or electrical items. If it doesn’t fit on a shelf or rail, it’s too big for us to handle. Please don’t leave items outside — it counts as fly-tipping and can damage donations. |
