The Live Music Act - October 2012
Been told that a venue is unable to host live music as they do not have a licence?
Please spread the good news to any small venues & publicans that you are in touch with that the law has changed.
There has been "Removal of requirement to license the provision of entertainment facilities" with the implementation of the Live Music Act on 1 October 2012.
If You are based in England or Wales and have an alcohol licence -
No Licence is required for music if there will be fewer than 200 people in the audience for amplified music
There is now no audience limit for unamplified music
The act covers music that does not take place very late at night, ie. between the hours of 23.00 and 08.00
The MU has launched a ‘Live Music Kit’ containing practical and creative advice for venues.
