Subsidised Courses Open to All - including youth leaders, home carers, group coordinators, local retail workers and all who care for and support others in the community.
Two separate subjects
• Useful Signing & Communication Skills
• Mental Wellness
Face-to-face daytime sessions at The Honesty Jar Fundraising Office (£12), and evening online sessions via Zoom (£6).
Using a combination of discussions, film clips and interactive exercises; we look at a these subjects to enable us to communicate, also understand and manage behaviour. Sharing information in a practical, useful way to help participants feel comfortable enough to consider a variety of coping and understanding techniques in all sorts of real situations.
The sessions are supported with comprehensive information packs and further learning guides.

This is a series of specially commissioned courses in which questions can be asked about specific individual situations. Our trainer is a highly regarded specialist in this field, delivering support, training, and counselling online and face-to-face.
Each year, Chris of Simply Training delivers over 220 sessions (160+ webinars & 60+ seminars) to over 2600 delegates in professional care organisations in the learning disabled, behaviourally challenged and mental health fields.
These courses are for personal use, as well as small local businesses and community groups.
We need to know in advance whether you are attending, as numbers are limited.

Step into a world of festive magic at The Honesty Jar in Henstridge this December! Our cosy Santa’s Grotto is back for another year — filled with twinkling lights, friendly elves, and the joyful spirit of giving.
Every child will receive a wrapped book and a toy suited to their age, chosen with care from our community reuse treasure trove. SEN friendly.
2025 Grotto Dates:

It's all about second chances - for both pre-loved items and people. With over 100 tonnes of donations saved from landfill every year, 40 amazing volunteers keep this place running with heart and purpose.
Here’s the twist: You pay what you feel! Yes, it’s shopping powered by kindness.
Open 6 days a week (10am–4pm, closed Wednesdays), and it takes £100 a day to keep the doors open. That’s where you come in!
How you can get involved:
* Find amazing treasures (for whatever you can afford)
* Drop off donations before 3pm (if it fits on a shelf or rail, they'll take it!)
* Join craft workshops & fun fundraisers
